Personal information we collect:
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
“Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
“Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
“Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
1. Account Information
2. Social Login Information
The purpose of social logins is to allow you to use the Site without needing to enter the necessary personal information required to create an account. If you have used a social log in, we will not have access to your password or other log in details. Instead, this information is offered by the selected social network and offers various advantages, including the ability for you to invite friends to the Site, if you so choose.
3. Transaction Information
When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, order ID, transaction details (time, date, quantity), location, billing address, shipping address, payment information, such as card number, expiry date and security code (through Stripe), email address, customer identifier, and phone number. Information about all purchases and sales through the Site are also collected. We refer to this information as “Order Information.” Collecting the Order Information is necessary for the efficient functioning of the Site. It allows us to display your shipping details to relevant sellers in the event that you purchase one of their items. Furthermore, this information only becomes accessible to the seller once the order has been placed, at which point it is their responsibility to deliver the item as intended. Where Stripe is used, support team employees may have access to personal information including name, address, and the last 4 digits of your card number in order to assist transactions.
What information is displayed to the seller?
We ensure that any shipping information provided to the seller is necessary for the delivery of the item. Only the following information is displayed: the full name, email address, shipping address, location (where consent is given) and phone number.
What information is displayed to the buyer?
When selling an item of a buyer, once the item is purchased, the buyer has access to your username, and location (where consent is given).
4. Payment Information
Furthermore, when you choose to make use of the “Remember Me” option available at checkout, Stripe will collect your payment card number, expiration date, CVC code, and email address. Stripe also records necessary information using cookies.
How do we use your personal information?
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
Communicate with you;
Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud;
When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
Personal information will only be used while your account is active. If you wish to deactivate your account, email: email@example.com.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns). Where IP address is shared, how you use the Service is associated with the device used rather than you as an individual, unless you are navigating the site through a Nowplease account.
Visible personal information
Any items that are being sold through our Site, will be visible to other users and search engines, with a product description, sizing and delivery information. Previously sold items will be visible on your user profile. Certain personal information will also be visible, however, this is limited to information that is deemed necessary for the transaction to take place. It currently includes your username.
